For the Sole

June 25th, 2009

I love collecting bags and belts since I was in college and now I have more than 500 pieces of  bags and belts. Different colors, shapes, size, texture and prices. My husband on the other hand, has a different collections, he collects Shoes. He has a wide selection of Running Shoes from the branded ones to the ones he got in a mall sale. But most of his shoes are purchased online. Since he often has a hectic schedule at work, it is more convenient for him to buy his shoes online since with just a few clicks on the keypads, you will have a full view and the details of the shoe as well as the price. And most often, those shoes online are on sale. He just got his new Rain Boots online as well at a very affordable price yet the quality of the shoe is world class. I also get my ladies shoes to the same shoe company online.

Moving In

June 6th, 2009

When my family and I moved to Florida, it was a great experience. New home, new community, new job and new colleagues. The move was not complicated since most of the establishments near our area were listed online. And a couple of months before my car insurance expire, I checked out the car insurance provider online and compared some florida car insurance quotes available. And I was surprised to learn that most of the companies offers competitive rate depending on the coverage you want.  Moving in a new place is very costly, good thing I was able to get a better value for my car insurance needs. I have had previous records of road accidents and that affect my insurance rate but with the insurance company I have now  there was no big difference. Good thing, I found the right one conveniently. And I will be doing business  with it for a long time.

Caught On Fire

May 21st, 2009

It was one o’clock in the morning and I just had about half an hour sleep  when my phone rang. I tried to ignore it since the sleeping pills was starting to take effect. But it won’t stop ringing and my ears were very irritated with the ringing sound. So I picked up the phone and was about to yell at the caller when I found out that it was from my lessor saying that the entire building where I have my business installed was caught on fire. I was then fully awaken. The entire building was insured but not my products. I will surely get some compensation from the building insurance but my products are not covered by that insurance. I sell expensive gadgets like palm top computers, high end digital cameras and cellphone. Good thing my business  was covered with a comprehensive business insurance. I got the insurance online and it took me less than an hour to have my business covered with the protection I need.

Debit Card

May 13th, 2009

My son will be celebrating his thirteenth birthday two weeks from now and I already bought a gift from him. But yesterday, I heard his conversation with his cousin and he told his cousin that he really want to have a laptop so he will not have a hard time researching for home works and projects. And he also said that most of his classmates have laptops already. I was moved by his statement. I log online and I saw that the laptops from a well known computer company was on sale. I was about to place an ordered and put it in my debit card when I realize I do not have any more funds in my debit card. So I apply for some payday loans online and the next business day, I had the funds credited on my account and I was able to purchase a laptop delivered on my son’s birthday.

Must Have

May 13th, 2009

Time flies when you are busy at work and at the same time preoccupied at home. And just recently, I remembered it would be our third wedding anniversary on the 20th of the month. It was already on the fifteenth and I haven’t gotten any gift for her. I know she already wrap up something for me and I must get one for her. Unfortunately, I just had a my car engine repaired and I do not have much money to spend. Not wanting to spoil our anniversary, I sign up for a cash advance loan online and took advantage of the next business day release of funds. So a few days before our anniversary, I was able to buy her a nice gift and I already had a reservation on our favorite restaurant.

Brotherhood at School

May 5th, 2009

When I was asked if I would like to join a fraternity, the first thing that came to my mind was hazing. I have known about a few students who had bad experiences with hazing and some of them cause their lives. But as they say, college days are the meanest days of your life. With all the school projects, assignments, gathering and all, it is a must that a student new in the university should have an alliance or brothers to help him out. Joining a fraternity is a good option and an opportunity in some ways. But when I joined a certain fraternity after the initiation which gave me a broad idea on the the ideals of the founders and an idea of brotherhood, I learned that fraternity is not only having some companion when you are in trouble. It is also having real friends who will help you out in your studies. People who will be there to support you and hear you out. People who you can confide with and share your dreams with. It is more than the physical protection, it is the emotional bonding that makes a fraternity a refuge to its members.

Public School Challenges

April 8th, 2009

Because public schools accept everyone in a given geographical area, they must contend with problems such as overcrowding and even poor teacher retention among others. While private school have smaller class size the teaching becomes more focused on each student and teachers tend to have more control over curricula and school policies but private school impose a certain tuition fee that is not affordable to just anyone.
My son is now studying in a private school and just a single book can cost a week’s meal of a child in a public school. But I am into quality education and I want nothing less for my son. I have nothing against public school since I graduated in a public school myself. For me, it does not matter if you can’t afford to send your child into private school as long as you can abide him in his quest for knowledge. A parent should be there to assist their children while they are studying either in public or private school.

Media and Education

March 27th, 2009

Nowadays, there a are lot of television program that are not suitable for very young kids. There are too much violence, too much sex, too much attack, too much foul words on the dialogue of the actors and just too many annoying scenes. So I would rather buy video tapes for my son than risk him watching something that is too confusing for him. But there are still some children’s channel where my son can still get education right at home. And one of his favorites is Sesame Street. I could hear him count with a Dracula, and there were some games with Elmo. And basically they teach the importance of being nice to one another and helping each other. Because each show is topic-driven, it will teach a child a lot of things, most of the time they are values they can use in their everyday lives. From the simple washing of hands to the psychological well being of a child. I have been watching the program when I was still in grade school and now my son is enjoying and learning from it.

Online Continuing Education

February 5th, 2009

As a licensed teacher, parents and students have high regards for us. They are expecting us to be knowledgeable in the field we are teaching. That is why we are required to have a continuing education for us to be updated on the latest curriculum. We need to be abreast with the changes set up by the education commission. That’s why teachers and many other licensed professionals must complete a certain number of credit hours to maintain their professional certification. Continuing education protects everyone. It protects professionals by ensuring they keep their skill sets current, preventing those skills from becoming obsolete. And also, it will make their clients have full faith in their capabilities and efficiency. But during these times, going back to a classroom setting is inconvenient on our part. Good thing we can have a continuing education online. Doing classes online is easy, clicking on a course title brings up detailed information about content, structure, requirements, fees and much more. Ensuring accreditation is part of a continuing education student’s course search effort.

Classroom Video Conferencing

January 17th, 2009

I remembered when I was still in grade school, it was very hard for me to wake up in the morning, get dressed up, eat breakfast and go to school. School is fun because there will you be with friends and you will have a surprise lunch. But the teaching method makes me sleepy. All the textbooks and board lectures makes me drowsy. The classroom interaction is fine but doing it each day makes it routinary. Years passed, I now have a child of my own. And I can see that each day, she is very eager to go to school. Then I found out why, it was not just because of her classmates and friends, it was due to the integration of classroom video conferencing that makes her eager to go to school each day. With the advancements in technology that have occurred in the last several years, more educators are pulling video conferencing into their classrooms . Classroom video conferencing is an evolving teaching method that is enhancing learning from kindergarten to graduate school. It is where a system enables people at separate locations to communicate using video and audio transmissions, and it isn’t just for corporate meetings, it is now widely use at school for optimum learning experience.
